1500 young people. Handel's Messiah. The Royal Albert Hall.

The Scratch Youth Messiah is a unique music education event bringing together up to 1,500 singers aged 7–25 to perform Handel’s Messiah in the Royal Albert Hall in the run-up to Christmas.

All young choirs are welcome! You can sing anything between four and thirteen choruses – just as much a you can manage. You then join a professional orchestra and fantastic young soloists under the baton of Ben Parry, Artistic Director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, for a thrilling performance, singing the timeless music of Handel’s Messiah.

Costing only £45 per choir this is an incredible opportunity for all young people to sing to a large audience in the beautiful and iconic Royal Albert Hall. Your singers will experience making music with hundreds of others, and work with a first-rate orchestra, conductor and soloists. Come and join us!

Because of the restrictions imposed on amateur music making and large-scale gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is much uncertainty surrounding this November's Scratch Youth Messiah.

As soon as we know for certain whether or not this can take place, we will post an announcement here. This will be mid-September at the earliest.

We deeply regret this lack of clarity, but matters are entirely out of our hands.
